Large Diameter Forming
Midwest Wire has made a goal of providing a wide range of capabilities, including the ability to work with very heavy wire. We currently are able to CNC form wire and rod up to 1.50 inch diameter and do high speed four slide bending up to .50 inch diameter.
Complex bends and large radii are possible with a high degree of repeatability.
Let our design engineers review your heavy wire application. We have the diversity of manufacturing methods to provide the most cost effective solution to your design.
Secondary Operations
Midwest Wire takes pride in the wide range of services we provide. Broaching, cold heading, threading, tapping, drilling, burnishing, chamfering and swaging are some of the most productive of these services.
Capabilities include:
- Broaching of multiple areas/planes in one stroke.
- High speed chamfering, doming and other end treatments.
- In house jig and tooling capability.
Welded Assemblies
Over the years Midwest Wire has developed many capabilities, including a wide range of welding options. Robotic MIG/TIG welding offers many advantages, with weld consistency and speed being foremost.
Capabilities include:
- Resistance welding, butt welding and automated mesh welding.
- Large robotic working envelope -- up to 9 foot 8 inch diameter with six axes of torch movement.
- Resistance mesh welding with multiple height capability.
Stamping
Midwest Wire Products offers a wide range of stamping capabilities, including drawing, blanking, trimming, flattening, piercing, and forming. We design and produce many of our own tools in-house. This allows for quick turnaround in the production of tools, and parts that are manufactured to correct tolerances.
Coil fed or hand fed presses range in size from 20 to 600 ton capacity.
